News from Snoqualmie Valley PTSA Council
Our council is still in its infancy as we will be beginning our second year. My name is Cathy Renner and I am the new council president for Snoqualmie Valley. Our council also welcomes Ahn Lee Horn as new Co-Vice President. We are pleased to have the continued leadership of Co-Vice President Christy Olson, Treasurer Alice Romano and Secretary Susan Korol.
Thanks to the efforts of former Council President Beth Burrows and Alice Romano we have just officially received our letter of determination from the IRS giving us our non-profit corporate volunteer organization status! Thank you Beth and Alice for all your time and effort put into this.
We will be welcoming 2 new PTSA’s into council this year. In September the newly built Twin Falls Middle School opens its doors for the first time and the WIN organization at Mt. Si High School is officially becoming a PTSA. We look forward to working with them and helping them through their start-up year.
In the next year the goals of Council include continuing to improve the flow of communication between our schools and between the district and our parents. Our district is growing at break-neck speed and we continue to look for ways to make sure no one gets lost in the chaos. The formation of the Council has greatly aided these efforts in the last year and it is our hope that we can continue to grow and improve.
